After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, Cathy DeBuono’s career in the entertainment industry began just a few years later in 1995 with a recurring a role on CBS’s long running series Chicago Hope, followed by a featured bit part in Touchstone Pictures’ Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion that lead to a regular gig on Paramount’s series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for it’s final three seasons. Her acting career would go on to include a myriad of television and film productions, including a lead role in the feature film Crazy Bitches which released on Valentines Day, 2015.
In 2001, Cathy’s passion for the study of the human character lead her back to school where she earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology and went on to become a licensed psycho-therapist.

In her first role behind the camera, Cathy was an Associate Producer (and on set photographer) for the short film The Touch, working alongside director/producer Jane Clark, (Elena Undone, Meth Head).
Cathy combined her on camera skills with her education training and experience to create and self produce, the globally popular video blog What’s Your Problem? (WYP), for an MTV affiliate website. A write in advice show that successfully delivered grounded, intelligent advice to its viewers while never failing to be funny and entertaining, WYP would be one of Viacom’s most downloaded video blogs of its time, nominated for LOGO’s “Best. Vlog. Ever.” in the New. Now. Next. Awards and named by Curve Magazine in their top three “Best Web Series” of the year, all three years running.
Best Actress on the Web
In 2009 – 2011, Cathy would produce, direct and star in We Have To Stop Now, (WHTSN). In 2010 her performance in this series would win her, “Best Actress on the Web” that year, according to Curve Magazine. WHTSN screened in film festivals world wide and was one of the first projects to pioneer the advent of subscription based web series. Having shot both seasons in such a way as to be able to be distributed in pieces as complete web episodes, or strung together to create a feature film, WHTSN was one of the first web series to land DVD distribution both domestically and abroad.
Cathy starred in other feature films such as the multi-award winning Out at the Wedding, And Then Came Lola (for which she won Best Supporting Actress at the Tampa LGBT Film Festival), as well as Nicole Conn’s A Perfect Ending and Jane Clark’s award winning, Meth Head.
Best Supporting Actress
Currently, Cathy is making a documentary yet to be titled feature film of a very different a nature than the aforementioned projects. This film will go with Cathy as she looks back on a time in her life when as a young, aspiring actress in Hollywood, she was able to elude the ruse of a violent sexual predator but unable to stop him from killing. Being one of a “parade of women” to testify against him as he stood trial for murder, Cathy is now seeking to meet these women and embark on a journey that attempts to dissect the mind of the man who preyed upon them all.
